KUKU-JAN is a Mahjong game which involves collecting numbers from the same line of the multiplication table.

What” KUKU-JAN” is?
Mahjong is one of the most famous table top games in Asia. KUKU is the name for multiplication tables in Japanese. KUKU-JAN is a Mahjong game which involves collecting numbers from the same line of the multiplication table (for example, collecting 3, 6, 18, 21, and 27). This game is very simplified so there is no need to learn complicated Mahjong rules.

For people who are not used to playing Mahjong.
This simplified game is similar to Poker. The players need to collect multiples of a number from 1-9 like Poker requires the players to collect the cards to make your hand stronger.
The only difference is a Mahjong game needs to collect the tiles faster than others to win.

KUKU-JAN gives kids opportunities for output by having fun with what they have learned at school.

遊び方・特徴

Point 01
Draw cards from the deck.
When it is your turn, draw a card from the central deck and add or replace it to your hand. The maximum number of cards in your hand is four.
Point 02
Discarded cards should be lined up in a visible manner.
Lay out the discarded cards so that they are visible. Look at your opponent's discards and align lines that are not the same.
Point 03
How to clear (1) When a card is drawn from the deck
When four cards of the same KUKU line are aligned, it is a reach state.
In this state, draw a card from the central deck and if there are five cards of the same KUKU line in the hand, say "KUKU-JAN!" and the game is clear.
Point 04
How to clear (2) When using an opponent's discarded cards.
When four cards of the same KUKU line are aligned, it is a reach state.When you have five cards of the same KUKU line in your hand using the cards discarded by your opponents, say "KUKU-JAN!" to clear the game.*You cannot take a discarded card that is already on the field.
The first player to clear three or five times wins.
